In January 2022, Devina came to Malaysia for her tertiary studies and met George at church. Their first impressions were light and unassuming — Devina saw George as a tall, friendly guy with a warm smile and an active spirit in ministry, while George thought Devina was a sweet and quiet girl, though a little too young for him. Neither felt any spark at first; George simply wanted to welcome a newcomer. But a simple invitation to lunch sparked a connection, and they soon discovered shared faith, values, and a dream to love with purpose — forever.
Two months later, George confessed his feelings with a nervous heart and a stuttering, short confession. Devina said yes right away, and they officially became a couple on March 19, 2022. Together, they complemented each other perfectly, growing in faith, patience, and love.
In November 2024, while Devina studied Mandarin in Taiwan, George visited and brought her to Kaohsiung under the pretense of visiting his brother, where he had secretly prepared to propose. Balloons, flowers, and even a hidden cameraman (thanks, Jonathan Yeh!) captured the joyful moment. With a beautiful diamond ring and her parents’ blessing, Devina said yes.
They registered their marriage on July 23, 2025, followed by their sangjit on August 3, 2025. Now, they eagerly await their church wedding — a celebration of love that continues to grow every day.
