Our parents actually knew each other since they were children, but the two of us personally only connected and got close in 2022. It all started with replying to an Instagram story, which quickly led to intense chatting. Funnily enough, I tried to confess my feelings twice but was initially turned down because Grace perhaps wasn’t ready at the time. Long story short, Gratia was persistent and tried again—and finally, Grace accepted! We officially became a couple on September 3, 2022.
From the very beginning, our relationship was long-distance (LDR). Initially, the distance was manageable, only about 1-2 hours away from Bontang. We made it work, and we continue to make it work, even though our LDR is much further now, with a 5-hour drive to Bontang. Despite the distance, we are both committed to growing and learning together, focusing on building better communication every day.
On February 15, 2025, we finally decided to get engaged. This decision came after numerous delays, debates, and the necessary process of strengthening ourselves to make a mutual commitment. Getting to this point required patience and resolve, but it led us to the most important decision.
After setting our commitment in stone, we reached the stage where we could confidently choose October as the month for our sacred wedding ceremony. We look forward to that month as the start of our holy marriage together.
