They say, “It takes two to tango,” and we couldn’t agree more. Ours began in the most modern way, a little swipe on Bumble turned into the greatest answered prayer. We like to think of ourselves as proud graduates of the “online dating success story.”
On 14th January 2023, we went on our very first date. The spark was instant, but life had other plans. Soon after, Gabriela had to return to the Maldives for work. What started as a promising beginning quickly became a test of distance and patience.
The distance between us was not measured only in miles but in moments we longed to share. We stepped into the world of long-distance love, a world of video calls that lasted until sunrise, messages that traveled across oceans, and airport hellos and goodbyes that carried both joy and tears.
It wasn’t always easy. There were days of waiting, of wishing, and of wondering. But through it all, we discovered that true connection is not bound by place or time. Each challenge strengthened us. Each mile apart reminded us how deeply we wanted to be together.
And Then, She Said YES! Fast-forward two and a half years later, built on trust, patience, and a lot of data plans… here we are.And finally—she said Yes!
