From a single click of a camera to a sacred vow, that’s how our story unfolds. She was the summer sunshine, warm and vibrant. She was filling every corner with her golden energy, including his heart. He couldn’t help but notice and capture those little moments, which blossomed into more frequent meet-cutes. Our connection then deepened within a Buddhist community we joined, where we found a shared spiritual path and led our journey from university sweethearts into lifelong partners.
As two students far from home, the love grew through small acts of kindness. From warm meals to shared medicine, a profound love slowly took root in our hearts. He knew from the moment she entered his life that it was as if the sea had finally met the sun as he had found his way to shore and bring a sense of enchantment for each other. In him, she also found a sense of safety and acceptance she never thought she would find. Then, his confession of love was his way of saying he had found his home in her.
As the Buddha taught that love is an act of boundless kindness and equanimity, where joy and sorrow are experienced together, we learned to navigate life’s challenges as one. Over eight years, we discovered that for every storm, there was a calm, and for every moment of doubt, we were there for each other. The journey itself is a proof that when two hearts are meant to be, they will always find their way back.
Through this wedding, we share our promises and reflect on what we mean to one another. This is our way of telling the world we have found our shore. From this day onward, every day will be a beautiful reminder that we were always meant to meet and be the harbor for one another. Like a home that is always cared for, we’ll cherish our vows, “I’ll care for you, because you are where my heart truly belongs, always and forever.”
