It all began during the Covid-19 pandemic, a time when the world was quiet and distance became a barrier. Vincent, who wanted to learn Mandarin, was looking for a teacher on the Superprof.id website. Out of the many teachers he tried for a “trial class,” there was one who finally captured his interest and commitment to learn—Naomi. From that point on, Naomi became Vincent’s chosen Mandarin teacher.
However, Mandarin lessons weren’t the only thing they talked about. In between online classes, their small conversations began to flow into topics outside the curriculum—about hobbies, life, and dreams. Who would have thought they had so many things in common? The virtual classroom quickly became a space where their personal connection deepened.
Feeling a strong connection, Vincent decided to take a chance and ask Naomi out for lunch. But… the invitation was rejected. Not once. Not twice. But four times! 😆 Vincent, however, didn’t run out of ideas. He finally found a way that she couldn’t refuse: “I want to treat you as my teacher, because you have taught me so well.” This time, Naomi had no reason to decline.
And finally, they met. The moment they saw each other face-to-face for the first time, Vincent smiled and delivered the surprise: “This is actually not a treat from a student to a teacher… this is a first date.” 😉 Naomi, completely surprised, could only laugh. Since that “sweet trap,” everything changed. From online conversations to real-life meetings, from a first date to countless memories, and from two people brought together by a pandemic… they are now taking the next step towards their wedding day. ❤️
